Callous vandals extinguished the Flame of Remembrance at Kings Park during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency crews were called after receiving reports of fire and a gas smell in the area.

The vandals also set fire to a bin, but did not cause excessive damage.
RSLWA CEO John McCourt said he was disgusted by the act.
“These people not only vandalised a memorial, they vandalised the memory of all those who served and those who died so that we can have a free country,” he said. “I don’t know what they get out of it. If it’s kicks, they’re pretty sad puppies.”
The eternal flame which usually burns all year round, has since been reignited.
