A man has been fined $1652 for breaching lockdown laws in Melbourne.
He was caught driving from Melbourne to Wodonga for a Big Mac!
Police Minister Lisa Neville is appalled at the behaviour of people disregarding the clear stay at home directions.
“I am fed up with it, Victoria Police are fed up with it. Can I be really clear, just in case there is any doubt at all, that there is absolutely no reason or need to drive from Melbourne to Wodonga to have a Big Mac.” she said on Saturday.
Other fines issued included the following:
• Travelling from Melbourne to Ballarat to ‘get some fresh air’
• Driving from Thornbury to Werribee to get a haircut from their favourite barber
• Going to Springvale from Werribee to do some shopping.
Victoria continues to battle coronavirus, with the state recording huge numbers throughout the week.
